چکیده

The paper illustrates the design of a power system voltage control scheme based on the model reference adaptive approach. Firstly, for an assigned operating condition, a power system approximated linear model is build-up which represents the system dynamics as seen from the busbar at which the controller is connected. Then, by imposing a desired reference model, the controller parameters are obtained by solving the model-following problem which ensures that the controlled voltage tracks the voltage reference. In presence of unknown operating conditions changes, the regulator parameters are varied according to an adjustment laws designed on the basis of the gradient rule. The task of the adaptation mechanism is to counteract the effects of such changes. Referring to a Static VAR System (SVS) controllable compensator device the adopted model-reference adaptive control scheme has been designed and its performance analyzed by accurate numerical time simulation studies in the case of both unknown load variations and changes in the power system structure, in particular line opening. Multiarea Transmission Cost Allocation in Large Power Systems Using the Nodal Pricing Control Approach

This paper proposes an algorithm for transmission cost allocation (TCA) in a large power system based on nodal pricing approach using the multi-area scheme. The nodal pricing approach is introduced to allocate the transmission costs by the control of nodal prices in a single area network. As the number of equations is dependent on the number of buses and generators, this method will be very ti...

Performance comparison between self-tuning and model-reference based adaptive schemes for nodal voltage regulation in power systems

The scope of the present paper is to analyze and to compare the performance achievable by two different adaptive schemes for nodal voltage regulation in power systems. The first scheme is based on the modelreference technique while the second one employs the self-tuning approach. The design methodologies and the characteristcs of each scheme are described. With reference to a Static VAR System ...

Transmission Cost Allocation in Restructured Power Systems Based on Nodal Pricing Approach by Controlling the Marginal Prices

This paper presents a method to allocate the transmission network costs to users based on nodal pricing approach by regulating the nodal prices from the marginal point to the new point. Transmission nodal pricing based on marginal prices is not able to produce enough revenue to recover the total transmission network costs. However, according to the previous studies in this context, this met...

Power and Velocity Control of Wind Turbines by Adaptive Fuzzy Controller during Full Load Operation

Research on wind turbine technologies have focused primarily on power cost reduction. Generally, this aim has been achieved by increasing power output while maintaining the structural load at a reasonable level. However, disturbances, such as wind speed, affect the performance of wind turbines, and as a result, the use of various types of controller becomes crucial. This paper deals with two ada...
